Upon arrival in Alabama one of the first things I did was look up family fun activities. Sure, I could have looked them up ahead of time, but I live on the edge. There were quiet a few amazing things to do. I even found a list of 97 family activities to do.
Item number 32: walmart- Super great option so much fun!
Item number 34: Dollar Store- Could it get any better than stuff for a dollar
Item number 37: Family Dollar Store- What! Family stuff for a dollar.
Item number 25: Old Time Pottery- Because New Time pottery is lame. This store was actually awesome. If you ever come across one stop everything and go in immediately.
Item number 1: The zoo- It was great they let you feed the animals and a bunch of animals just wandered the zoo.
Item Number 15: Pirate Putt Putt – Dark caves, giant waterfalls, tiny balls a toddler can throw, it doesn’t get any better.
Those of you that have been following me for a long time know I post almost everyday and for me to go almost a week without posting is insane.
I went on vacation. Doesn’t everyone go on vacation for their week of mardi gras break. Oh wait you don’t get a week off for mardi gras. Sucks to be you.
I knew you would all be beyond jealous because not only did I go on vacation, but I went to everyone’s dream location. Alabama. Most dream their entire lives of a vacation on the coast of Alabama. Lucky for you I have been planning a series of blogs to show you through photo and story, so it will be as if you were there.
Part One: The Beach
The beach in Alabama is white sand, crystal blue water, and beautiful tranquility.
Even on a cloudy cold day it is truly breathtaking. Just the wind coming in off the ocean calms the soul. I have often wondered if the ocean breeze was whispering sweet nothings to my soul when I wasn’t looking.
You could see the simple tracks of birds covering the sand. A quiet gesture to the untouched place.
Do you notice anything amiss? Look closer. From our condo I could easily see 8 oil rigs. EIGHT! It breaks my heart. I am truly saddened that there is little left in this world untouched by greed and money.
I hope someone will stand up for our world and the natural beauty that is left.
This past weekend was the most epic football battle in 40 years. LSU vs. Alabama. @ Alabama. 1 vs. 2. Two undefeated teams enter only one will leave with dignity. If you were not watching the game you must have been dead. I am an LSU fan. There are no other options. We dominated. 9 to 6!
Les Miles (LSU Head coach) says it best:
“Would I rather be a Bama fan? Of course not. LSU is just boatloads more fun. Alabama is respectable, dignified. They are college football royalty. We’re completely unhinged psychopaths. In the SEC Family, we’re the crazy drunk uncle. Everybody loves that guy, so long as he only trashes somebody else’s house. Well, we’re coming to trash Alabama’s house this week. Hide the china.” ~Les Miles
