I slowly turn the dead bolt lock and push the door open. Holding my breath in hopes that it will somehow keep the door from squeaking. My eyes slowly criss cross the room looking for any sudden movement.
They hide in different corners of my house every day.
I slowly make my way to the kitchen and jump at the kitchen sink as though an army might come out of the pipes to attack my darkened soul.
Nothing.
I try not to let my foolish excitement overrun me. They are still here. They must be.
I slowly make my way down the hallway. Careful not to make a sound. As I turn the corner, there they are.
Just waiting for me.
Laughing at my utter inability to stop them.
I throw everything I have got at them. To no avail.
First, I am making my way to all of the blogs that requested a visit. This is taking some time as I want to fully investigate your blog. Hopefully soon I will have visited you all!
I like to collect thought provoking quotes, sayings, poems, and thoughts. This has always been my favorite. It was said by mother Teresa.
Last week I asked for a few non traditionally funny topics, I received so many great ideas I thought I would throw a few together into a song.
To the tune of the theme song of fresh prince of bel air. You can play the song so you can sing alone with my new and improved words 🙂
Now this is a story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute, just sit right
there
I’ll tell you how I became the Queen of
a blog called NC.
In good ol’ United States born and raised
In the school books is where I spent most
of my days
Chillin out, maxin, relaxing all cool,
And all telling my sister just what she
should do
When a couple of kids, they were up to
no good
Started taking sharpies to my blue room’s walls.
I sat one kid’s head and my mom got
pissed
And said “You’re sitting
here and watching this new purple paint dry”
I Begged and pleaded with her hour after hour
But she sat me down and made me sit and watch that paint.
Damn I thought I would rather clean up poop
baby poop
I put my head down low and thought I
might as well kick it
I fell fast asleep and woke about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the room “Yo room
smell ya later”
I looked at my kingdom I was finally
free
To write on my throne as the Queen of NC
*Loosely based off the Julie Andrews sound of music song*
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
brown paper packages tied up with strings,
these are a few of my favorite things.
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,
door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.
these are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
silver white winters that melt into springs,
these are a few of my favorite things.
When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
when I’m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
and then I don’t feel so bad.

One of my favorite poets is Rumi. He is often considered the most popular poet in the U.S. I was going through a tough time and a coworker handed me the book The Essential Rumi, and said I think you need this more than I do. And it all began.
