Songs are many things to many people.
I find this one very thought provoking and I thought you might as well. Who doesn’t like a little weekend thinking.
This is “In The Waiting Line” By Zero 7 ~ lyrics below~
Wait in line
‘Till your time
Ticking clock
Everyone stop
Everyone’s saying different things to me
Different things to me
Everyone’s saying different things to me
Different things to me
Woooohh
Do you believe
In what you see
There doesn’t seem to be anybody else who agrees with me
Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe in
What you see
Nine to five
Living lies
Everyday
Stealing time
Everyone’s taking everything they can
Everything they can
Everyone’s taking everything they can
Everything they can
Woooohh
Do you believe
In what you feel
It doesn’t seem to be anybody else who agrees with me
Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe
In what you see
Ah and I’ll shout and I’ll scream
But I’d rather not have seen
And I’ll hide away for another day
Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe
In what you see
Everyone’s saying different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Different things to me
Everyone’s taking everything they can
Everything they can
great song!
It is!
Love this song! It makes me think of ModSquad when it is playing as Claire Danes character is walking home. Good digs for sure. As for me, it makes me think of Carl Sagan and his crazy theories…
Ahh Carl Sagan.
Deeep and simple. Simple and deep!! Love it!
Thanks!
Ive just listened to it and it’s altogether more in the deep of the city and the loneliness it expresses is almost terrifying! Do I imagine these things or are they really there? Well done Never Contrary. By the way the Camelia are now fully in bloom in Dunfermline, ‘Kingdom of Fife’ Scotland! We have caught up with Louisiana??
It gets deeper everytime you listen. Our flowers are long done blooming. Spring is over here. Summer arrived last tuesday.
I will go on listening. I am sad for Louisiana. You must be crestfallen now the Camelia is no longer in flower! I have thirty five deep pink flowers so heavy the little branches are weighed down! One day I want to go to Louisiana and listen to the Jazz…
It would be well worth the trip.
I will definitely ccome with my good lady! Maybe we could do a tour of the very cream of US bloggers! At least the one or two that make your toes curl! Cheers John
an immensely sad song…great blog, thanks
Glad you liked it. Hope you aren’t too sad.
